The Venetian and The Palazzo Las Vegas will celebrate the magic and fantasy of Carnevale this summer, featuring three months of classic Italian festivities beginning June 2. Carnevale is themed on the myriad of summer festivals that grace the small villages and towns of Italy throughout summer.
TKOart’s team of artisans and craftsmen are currently fabricating elaborate and oversized masquarade masks that will enhance the wonderment from the moment guests enter the resorts. From these visual spectacles, to the themed characters and the unexpected surprises around every corner, guests will be wrapped up in the pageantry and magic that is Carnevale. Installation begins in a few days so check back for a snapshot of the festivities. Or, better yet, go to Vegas and have a great time at Carnevale.

The Pasadena Showcase House for the Arts is one of the oldest, largest and most successful house and garden tours in the nation. Since 1948, Pasadena Showcase has awarded $18 million in gifts and grants to support the Los Angeles Philharmonic, Walt Disney Concert Hall, and cultural and educational musically oriented programs for youth.
This year, PSHA will honor the Robbins House. The home was designed by John Winford Byers, who worked wtih celebrity clients like Shirley Temple and J. Paul Getty, and built by Glen O. Winget of Pasadena. The house features eight bedrooms and baths. It is an example of Spanish Colonial Revival architecture and highlights include design details from Italy, Spain, Mexico, and parts of North Africa.
The Robbins House has a long history, dating back to the 1930s. The home is known for its historical and architectural contribution to La Cañada Flintridge. Drawings, photographs, and other materials on the Robbins House are held at the University of California, Santa Barbara’s University Art Museum.
TKO has worked over the years as an art consultant with many of Los Angeles’ top designers, providing art curation and framing services for their rooms in the design house. This year is no exception – we are excited to be working with Mark Cutler (Robb Report top 40 designers in the country) and Phill Vonk (principle designer and owner of D Christjan Design). Mark transformed a three room casita into a luxury guest house. Phill Vonk transformed the library located in the main house with his master craftsmanship and design.

The Palazzo Las Vegas celebrates the arrival of the Spring Season with Vibrant Butterfly Décor. Center stage is Bella, an intricately designed, animated butterfly with a 22-foot wingspan. Bella softly flaps her Honeysuckle pink, green and yellow wings and gently blinks her long lashes while perched amidst the atrium’s fountains and blooming spring topiaries. The signature butterfly took TKOart’s team of artisans, seamstresses and animatronic experts nearly three months to fabricate. The butterfly and spring décor will be on display in The Palazzo Waterfall Atrium and Lobby daily beginning February 28, 2012 and will remain a must see attraction through the end of May.
Following is a quick video of Bella the Butterfly.

We love what Goop says:
“The contemporary art market is simply humongous. Historically, people have been overwhelmed and terrified by the idea of buying art for a variety of reasons. People associate the word ‘art’ with what’s in museums and have pigeonholed the whole notion as too ‘highbrow.’ Not to mention that in the past ten to fifteen years, the auction houses have publicly reported astronomical figures every time they close a contemporary art auction, so a lot of people think that those are the average prices. Finally, there is the misconception that galleries are impenetrable by the average layperson or by those who aren’t wealthy. These are all myths that are simply untrue.

Only in Vegas can one discover an enormous fire breathing dragon. For over a year, TKOart has been conceptualizing, designing, and fabricating the 128 foot dragon for the Venetian Palazzo in Las Vegas celebrating Chinese New Year – The Year of the Dragon. With our team of designers, artists, animatronic engineers, and welders from all over the world, the monstrous statue arrived on three huge trucks Sunday at the Palazzo after traveling by boat from our studio in Russia. In order to get the 8,000 pound zodiac to its new home at the property’s Waterfall & Atrium Gardens, a crew tore out walls and then carted the dragon through the casino floor. Once it arrived at its final destination, craftsmen soldered and molded the dragon together while artists painted bringing the dragon to life in vivid golds and reds. Last night, engineers tested the fire breathing mechanics while the property’s horticultural department magnificently garnished the landscape.
